There was a attempt or several attempts during my years at Mead where parents, who will go unnamed (because I believe everyone deserves a chance at redemption or change of heart) , tried to ban books we were reading which to me seemed to be a pretty silly exercise.  Books that come to mind that I read, enjoyed and they tried to ban were; "Catcher in the Rye," "Catch-22'" and "The Learning Tree."  

I am curious about the names of other books people remember parents trying to ban - anyone have any to offer up?
